Our journey

From a flipchart sheet to the world stage

Tuto started as our project for Technovation Girls 2026. We won 1st place in Moldova, then 1st place in Europe, and made it to the World Summit in India. Here's how it happened, step by step.

  1. January 2026 · The start

    We started with a problem we knew firsthand

    We gathered around a flipchart with one question: why is good homework help a luxury? Then we started building Tuto, screen by screen.

    If a message shows signs of distress, Tuto pauses the lesson and shares helpline numbers: 112, the Child Helpline 116 111 and La Strada. Inappropriate content is filtered.

Isn't Tuto just a faster way to copy homework?

No. The default is “Learning mode”: Tuto asks guiding questions and doesn't hand over the result. There's also a “Quick answer”, but it costs tokens and Tuto reminds you every time that step by step works better.

What age is Tuto for?

For students aged 10–19, in grades 5–12. Children under 13 need consent from a parent or guardian.

Which subjects does it cover?

Math, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, history, Romanian language and computer science, following the Republic of Moldova's MECC curriculum.

Is it safe for my child?

Yes. Tuto detects messages that show signs of distress and immediately shares helpline numbers (112, 116 111, La Strada). It's protected against inappropriate content and manipulation attempts, and conversations can be reported to the team.

What happens to my child's data?

We use it only to make the service work. We don't sell it or share it with third parties. You can request deletion anytime, and when an account is deleted the data is permanently removed within 30 days.

How do I install the app on my phone?

Tuto installs straight from the browser: on Android from the Chrome menu (“Install app”), on iPhone from Safari (“Share” → “Add to Home Screen”). App Store and Google Play versions are coming soon.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. The subscription renews automatically, but you can cancel anytime before the renewal date.

What are tokens?

The in-app currency. Students earn it for effort (daily streaks, solving step by step, inviting friends) and can spend it on quick answers.

Does it help with BAC exam prep?

Yes. When signing up you can choose BAC prep as your goal, and Tuto adapts its explanations, exercises and flashcards.

Which languages does Tuto speak?

Romanian, Russian and English. You can switch language anytime in settings.
